The Louve, Paris

We decided not to attempt an all-out, frontal assault on the Louvre. (Thirty-six thousand exhibits was just a little more than we wanted to see.) So, like most people, we concentrated on the highlights and then stopped wherever something caught our fancy.
The Louve seen from the Louve
Winged Victory of Samothrace
An interior court yard
Bacchus, Greco-Roman god of wine and intoxication

For some reason, Case has a soft spot for this pagan deity. Admittedly, in this artist's incarnation, he looks much more alive than many of the other statues. He's not reggae and those aren't dreadlocks -- they're bunches of grapes in his hair!
The apartments of Napolean III
Joan of Arc
Hearing voices -- it's not just for loonies.

Sail boats in the fountain outside the Louve; the kids were having such a great time!
