Netherlands to Munich, Germany

We rode the "ICE" to Munich using our Eurail pass. I guess first there was the train. Then there was the express. Then the IC (intercity), which was even faster, with fewer stops. Now we have the "ICE" (InterCityExpress), even F-A-S-T-E-R. Case thought he saw 180 km/hr on the display once, but it was a little far away, and his presbyopia isn't quite that good/bad (yet). As an added bonus, the glass panel let us watch our engineer as he sped us through the blurry German countryside.
Or, we could simply watch the blurry countryside itself!

And here is the ICE in person, so to speak. Great ride, but always looks a little scary to me (Case) from the front. Do not let this thing catch you on a dark track after midnight. You won't be able to get out of the way in time!

The pedestrian mall of central Munich was...
...alive with buskers. We were transfixed by these four, who played classical pieces with great enthusiasm. (Notice the violinist in the yellow shirt especially.)

And yes, your eyes do not deceive you -- the guy on the left is playing an accordion. Hey! This is Munich! With biergartens in every building and down every alley, it's going to happen!

More on Munich later, but this was our first experience while trying to stroll away the excess speed accumulated from our train ride (hah!).

Conversation at the Weller home:

Ginger: Hey. It looks like Case has lost weight. He looks really skinny.

Jim: That porker? It's about time.

Don't ya miss us?!!!
